This page lists growers who provide produce that meets the criteria for "Slow Food" in that it is good, clean, and fair. Some may not be organic, and some may not meet all of the criteria. However, our patronage of growers who are trying to convert their operations will serve to better ensure their success.

In general, producers who sell products only at local farmer's markets, and have no off-market-season direct sales or subscription services to consumers, are not included. This list is intended to make your quest for local foods an attainable goal.

This list is only a beginning, and will forever be in a state of change. Corrections, updates and comments are welcome by e-mail at  or by entry in the Forum.

Stone-Buhr is now producing local, sustainable, hard-wheat flours for baking.  This is news for bakers, as most of the wheat grown in our region is soft white, and is shipped overseas to Japan for noodle products.

Stone-Buhr products can be found in local grocery stores.  The site lists Fred Meyer and Albertson's.  Apparently there's a website link listed on the bags of flour so you can check online to see where YOUR PARTICULAR bag of flour was grown, and by whom!  They're tapping into people's desire to get to know their food producers.
