Stone-Buhr is now producing local, sustainable, hard-wheat flours for baking. This is news for bakers, as most of the wheat grown in our region is soft white, and is shipped overseas to Japan for noodle products. Stone-Buhr products can be found in local grocery stores. The site lists Fred Meyer and Albertson's. Apparently there's a website link listed on the bags of flour so you can check online to see where YOUR PARTICULAR bag of flour was grown, and by whom! They're tapping into people's desire to get to know their food producers. |
